Total Costs: A $75.00 registration fee payable to Allegheny Intermediate Unit is due when Apprenticeship Application Page is mailed to our office.

Students will have the opportunity to experience the zoological field by working with the trainers at the National Aviary. Students will go behind the scenes and assist with many aspects of animal care, including: feeding, cleaning, enrichment, and training.

Instructor Bio: Caitlin Stone has been an educator at the National Aviary since 2007 and was fortunate enough to participate in several AIU apprenticeships while attending North Allegheny High School. She enjoys being able to provide similar experiences for students through this program.

All classes take place on Wednesdays from 10:00am until Noon at the National Aviary, 700 Arch Street, Pgh, PA 15212.
