Total Costs: A $75.00 registration fee payable to Allegheny Intermediate Unit is due when Apprenticeship Application Page is mailed to our office.

This program offers a broad-based knowledge concerning the area of education. It provides opportunities to explore the field of education from A to Z. The instructors are actively involved in education and are able to bring in guest speakers who will answer questions/concerns about choosing education as a major in college and readily filling the teacher tool box with ideas/suggestions prior to entering college. Apart from hearing from the best and finest in the field, the program engages participants in active learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Instructor Bios:

Dr. Kathy Harrington has been an educator for over 30 years, 18 years as an administrator Principal at Pine Richland Middle School, 16 years as a teacher and Dean of students for the Pittsburgh Public Schools.
Currently Dr. Harrington serves as a student teacher supervisor and adjunct professor at area universities and also mentors new principals. She serves on the executive board for the Pa Schools to Watch team and is the past regional president for the Pa Middle Level Association.

She is a published author, her book " The Power of Fun " offers fun and inspiring tips for educators. Dr. Harrington has presented at numerous state and national conferences.
